Tung Choi St.
1 a street in Mong Kok built on tung choi cultivation fields in 1924. Mong Kok has a long history, as evidenced by the potteries discovered in recent road works that were dated back to the Jin Dynasty (265-420). Mong Kok, literally meaning flourishing/busy corner, holds the Guinness world record for having the highest population density in the world at 130,000/sqkm. Mong Kok is not only a thriving never-sleeps place for restaurants and Canto-style bars, but it also features prominently in Hong Kong popular culture, as its a hotbed for triad activities (but don't worry, they're not dangerous). Tung Choi St. is best known to locals and foreigners alike for being home to Ladies' Market and Goldfish Market. for more fascinating information, see wikipedia!
